Back in October the husband and I honeymooned in NYC, Vegas and LA and although it was 6 months ago *sighs* I never got the chance to blog about it as I lost the memory card that held all our photos! Idiot!  Anyway it turned up on Friday (hurrah *claps hands*) so I'll do a few posts over the next week and fill ya'll in on our adventures! I love reading travel/holiday posts, it cheers me right up!  With plans in the pipeline to go travelling next year for 6 months it has inspired me to relive these memories.

We're going to NYC today so enjoy! (photo heavy)....

After a whole day of travelling we finally made it to JFK, we were both absolutely shattered. Once we cleared immigration it was off to get some transport into NYC, much to my surprise my husband had organised a chauffeur to pick us up, complete with champers!  That is the life!

A short ride later and we were approaching the bright lights of the city, although I was tired I was so excited!  Our hotel was on 126 West, 26th Street, we were literally on Times Square, we couldn't have asked for a better location. We checked in and although we were both dead on our feet we couldn't wait to get out and see what was going on.  A quick freshen up and we headed out, first stop Times Square...

It was about 9.30pm when we hit Times Square and it was so busy, the bright lights were overwhelming, I was literally walking about with my mouth open just staring at all the screens.  After some exploring we decided we were hungry and headed to the Hard Rock Cafe.  The vibe inside was fantastic, we propped ourselves up at the bar and ordered some burgers.  We both went for the pulled meat burgers (I had chicken, Ian had pork)  it was undoubtedly the best pulled meat burger that I have ever had, just amazing, (the second picture was taken on our 3rd day in NYC and it was pouring of rain, I don't think I've ever seen rain like it!)  After being fed and watered we headed back to the hotel as we couldn't keep our eyes open any longer... it had been a long day!

The following morning we were up at 9am, showered, fed and ready to go, we didn't have a plan as such but we headed to the Grey Line ticket office to pick up our New York passes (if you're visiting NYC these are a must).

We bought the passes before we travelled and they were a great saving, they also allowed us to queue jump at the many tourist attractions, winner!  After collection we headed off in search of nothing but the sights, I followed Ian as he was navigator.  We walked pretty much all day, we had a brief stroll through Central Park, up 5th Avenue, looking in awe at all the designer stores, we stopped briefly for lunch at TGI Fridays on 5th Avenue and then continued down to the Radio City Hall before making our way to the Rockerfeller Centre.

We picked the best day to go to the Top of the Rock, it was so sunny and the views were amazing. We never did the Empire State because we only had a few days to cram everything in, plus we got some awesome pics of the Empire State from the Rock.  The Top of the Rock was probably my favourite attraction in New York, a place that I could probably visit over and over, I don't think I would ever get sick of that view, just look at it! #epic

What a day it was, we did so much walking and seeing on our first day, but it was amazing! We headed back to our hotel to get ready for a trip across the bridge, we were headed for Brooklyn...

... To be continued
