LAURA MERCIER TINTED MOISTURISER REVIEW

When it comes to tinted moisturiser I have to say I was never a huge fan.  I always liked a good full coverage foundation that would cover every imperfection and leave my face looking flawless.  I didn't own any tinted moisturisers and wouldn't even contemplate buying one.  18 months ago I went on a makeup artistry course and was introduced to the world of tinted moisturisers, the tutor loved them and would use them in all her demos.  I was quite impressed by how she transformed a dull plain face into something gorgeous simply using tinted moisturiser.  After my course I was sold and set off in search of some good tinted moisturiser and that's when Kirsty met Laura...

I read a lot about the Laura Mercier tinted moisturisers and swatched the moisturisers several times before I eventually bought one.  Initially I picked up the shade nude, however it was a little too light for me so I then went off looking for some other alternatives, I tried a few other brands but decided that the Laura Mercier moisturisers were definitely the best.  I decided to invest in a few more shades so that I could mix them together to get the perfect shade.

I now have nude, sand and almond in my collection.  I mix these to create the right shades for me, whether that be on my pale days or the days I am tanning.

Since I have started religiously following my skin care routine my skin has been so clear and these moisturisers now work even better with my skin.  The consistency of the product is thicker than your average moisturiser but still very lightweight when applied to the skin.  I find it best to apply the product with your fingers, this is also the recommendation of the brand. You can build up coverage with these also and I'd say that setting with a powder is a must as this will help keep your skin looking fresh and tinted all day.

"Laura Mercier created this product to give skin a healthy 'no-makeup' look with a soft hint of colour that evens and enhances without hiding the skin. This lightweight formula provides ideal protection from the sun's harmful, damaging rays with broad spectrum SPF 20 sunscreen. Perfect for all skin types, including sensitive."

The purpose of the tinted moisturisers are not to create a flawless look but to enhance the skin you have.  The moisturiser will even out your skin tone and cover any redness.  I then apply my concealer over the top to cover any nasty blemishes or to brighten up the under eye area.  These are perfect for hot summers days, when you don't want to feel like you have a load of foundation caked on your face.  Perfect for taking with you on holiday/vacation or for days that you just don't want to spend a lot of time perfecting your face.

I love the fact that these tinted moisturisers are oil free and SPF 20.  A must for summer days in the sun.    These have become a firm staple in my makeup bag over the last few weeks and as long as my skin continues to stay clear and healthy I'll likely use these right into the autumn months.  They are a little on the pricey side

Do you have any of these moisturisers or do you use another brand?  Please leave me details of any other brands you can recommend in the comments.
