Chapped dry lips are something that I suffer from quite frequently and It literally appears overnight which is so annoying. I've tried several lip scrubs in the past, hoping they will remove the chapped skin, whilst they do help I am always lacking that one product that will help my lips remain soft and nourished.

When I came across the REN lip balm on I was instantly drawn to it.  REN is a brand that I really favour, having sampled some of their skin care products and being really impressed I was sure that this lip balm would serve me well, and it didn't disappoint.

REN claim that this lip balm is a "deeply replenishing lip balm that repairs, soothes and protects dry or chapped lips" it's full of goodness, Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Acacia Honey and Calendula Oil.  As part of my research into this product I found that many of the ingredients come from natural sources, all with their own healing benefits.

The first time I used this product was the day after giving birth.  During labour I somehow managed to bite my lip, which left me looking like I'd gone 12 rounds with Tyson, my lips also became extremely dry and cracked so it was definitely a good time to give this product a run for it's money!

Within two days my cracked lips had almost completely healed and were back to feeling soft and subtle.  I applied the product several times throughout the day, my lips were really bad so I felt they needed that extra few applications over those two days.  Now that my lips are fully healed and back to normal I only tend to apply the product 2 or 3 times a day, once in the morning, in the afternoon and before bed, I find that this keeps my lips in the best condition.

On first application to the lips the product feels a little sticky, but once spread across the lips it turns into a really lovely buttery consistency and leaves your lips feeling really nourished.  It's really like a lip butter rather than a balm, if that even makes any difference.  This product is a great addition to my skin care routine and I have been using it daily to ensure my lips stay soft and chap free, so far so good!
