Before I became a mummy myself I had plenty of my own opinions on how my friends/family raised their children, I definitely said things like "my child won't get away with that" and "you won't catch me allowing that", "it might be harsh but you've gotta do it".  Well I've eaten a huge slice of humble pie haven't I! It's all well and good to have your opinions and believe that you would NEVER do any of the things you witnessed.  I have to hang my head in shame and say that motherhood has taught me A LOT in such a short time.

Being on the receiving end of opinions myself I've realised how ridiculous my opinions were, and until you are actually a mum you really should keep shtum!

Every single child is different and you will do all those things you said you wouldn't.  In the early weeks you'll cradle your baby to sleep, pander to every cry and let them off with murder.  Don't get me wrong I will instil discipline when the time comes and my husband and I have already started a night time routine to try and eliminate years of sleepless nights but that doesn't makes perfect.

Every single person will have their own views on parenthood, what's right and what's wrong and that's ok.  At the end of the day you don't have to live with anyone else's child and it completely up to you how you bring up your child!  Listen to no-one, follow your own instincts because they'll 9 times out of 10 be right and never say never.

How many of you are with me?
