FESTIVE FROLICS - OOTN & MAKEUP

It wouldn't be Christmas with out a good old knees up!  My works Christmas party this year was themed Hollywood.  I left it all a bit last minute on the dress front and couldn't find anything to wear! It was a right stressful situation, but in the end I opted for an old favourite, something I totally forgot I had... my LBD!

Since having Oscar I haven't really had any nights out where I've been able to get my glam on, so with the perk of being off on maternity leave and having ALL DAY to get ready I took full advantage.  The night before I whacked on my fake tan, I'm currently using the St Moritz tan which I really like, I feel like it gives a good colour without being to dark, and at £1.99 a bottle whose complaining?!  I painted my nails using Gelish gel polish in "black shadow" and added some sparkles for an extra christmassy touch.

The next day I decided that I would look out some makeup bits that I would definitely be using, a few old favourites that included my original Naked Palette, Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer and my faithful Makeup Forever HD Foundation.  I also pulled out some lashes too.  I don't wear falsies often because I usually run out of time when getting ready but I really do love them, they just finish off a glam look perfectly!

As you can see the foundation looks flawless when photographed.  It was created for TV so it really does the trick, it also looks like that in real life.  Every time I wear it I get so many compliments and the best bit, it's not heavy at all and actually feels like skin.

I used the warm brown and gold shades in the Naked Palette to create my eye makeup and then used a vanilla shaded pigment from Inglot in my inner corners.  I opted for a nude lip, this colour is from Sephora's own range but I don't remember the name :(

I loved spending 4 hours getting ready and my hubby surprised me by coming home early to allow me to get ready in peace!  The night out was great, the meal was lovely, the band were awesome but by 12 o'clock I felt like Cinders, I was ready to go home.  I was apprehensive about going because I have been off work for so long and as I work out in the field I didn't really know anyone but I shouldn't have worried as everyone was lovely!  It also allowed me to feel like my 27 year old self again, the young free girl I was before Oscar came along, a night off from being mummy.  It was great, but I was glad to get home to my jimjams and to wake up to my little boy the next day!
