When it comes to makeup my collection is ever-growing, as much as I would love to spend all my maternity pay on Dior, Channel, Nars, Clinque and the like I just can't.  Anyone on a maternity wage will know that it barley covers a months worth of food shopping let alone left overs for treats, however their is one brand that doesn't break the bank, Makeup Revolution!

Unless you've been living under a rock for the last nine months then I'm sure you've heard of Makeup Revolution, it's taken the blogging world by storm and created quite a buzz.  Last summer I was kindly sent some products from the brand and I was seriously impressed.  You can read my other reviews here and here.  Today's review is that of the Blush and Contour palette in Sugar & Spice. After being so impressed with the other products I decided to purchase this palette in the hope it would be just as good and I wasn't disappointed.  I actually picked this palette up a while before Christmas so I've given it a good run for review.

I love the hard black and gold casing that homes this product, I feel it gives this palette a really professional look.  The palette has 8 different shades, two contour shades, six/seven blush shades and two highlight shades.  I say six/seven as the pink baked looking shade could double up as a blusher and a subtle highlight.  The palette is a complete steal at only £6, you can pick one up here

The colour choice in this palette is perfect for all occasions.  As a professional makeup artist specialising in bridal, this palette is now one of my top go to palettes for brides, it has something that suits all skin tones and the colour pay off is amazing.  The lighter highlight shade is also very subtle and gives the perfect highlight across the cheek bones a cupids bow without leaving you looking too shiny.

The two shades on the left are the contour colours, as you can see they aren't overly tanned/bronzed so they too could be used as a blush for those with lighter skin tones, the other four shades are highly pigmented and the lasting power on these are just as good as MAC or any other high-end brand.  Unfortunately due to the poor light I was unable to get any good pictures of the highlight shades but I can assure you the pay off on those are equally amazing.

So even though I don't have the money to spend on the high-end brands I love, I cans till indulge in a little retail beauty therapy without breaking the bank, AND the products are so worthy of their price tag.  Makeup Revolution appear to be adding new lines to their collection regularly and I'm excited to see what they bring out for spring!

Have you tried anything from this brand?  Any burning recommendations for me?  Please leave your comments below.
