WHAT I'VE BEEN WATCHING

I'm not much of a TV person to be honest, I don't religiously watch the soaps or sit in front of the telly for hours, I don't really have time, however I do love a good box set/series and I've watched quite a few over the last few months, so if your looking for something to fill up these cold dark nights take a look at my reviews.

From the Brits - Broadchurch

This series has been my newest addiction.  Two weeks ago there seemed to be an awful lot of buzz around the show. Later that day twitter blew up and then my Facebook feed was full of Broadchurch comments.  I must of been living under a rock because I'd never heard of it.  I decided to investigate and watched the first episode of series 1, WOWZIES! I was hooked, I watched the whole first series within the week! Series two began a week past Monday and it's already got me hooked once more. David Tenant plays the leading role, and I have to say he plays it bloody well!  I really didn't like him in Dr Who but I'm really impressed with him in this role.  The show is about an 11 year old boy who was killed and dumped on the beach, the whole first series is centred around finding the killer, its really gripping!  The second series like I said has just started, and although there is follow on from series 1, they are now bringing in a new story which already has me on the edge of my seat.  If you haven't seen this show it's available on ITV Player and Box Sets through sky!  I'd give this a 5/5 rating.

From the Americans - Suits

Think modern day Ally McBeal, if you loved that, you'll love this!  And hello hot men alert!  My husband actually really loves this show too (not for the hot men obviously).  The show is based in a top law firm, each week they fight different cases, but there is a running story amongst the characters.    It's a feel good show that'll make perfect week night viewing.  You'll love to hate Louis, become attached to Mike and fall head over heels for Harvey!  Another great show, it's not a gripping drama as such so for that reasonI'd only rate this one 4/5.  Seasons 1 & 2 are available on Netflix, however you'll need to either buy season 3 or wait for it to be aired in the UK!

The Vampire Diaries

I've been a fan of this show for a few years now, I've watched it from the start and still love it!  it's a little more directed at the teen audience, but I just really enjoy it!  The writers have come along way, all the twists and turns, the story lines are great and every episode has me wanting more.  I've also cried a lot of tears watching this show.  If your into the whole supernatural thing then you will love this!  I am sure most of you have heard of this show so there's not much else I can say.  I couldn't give you a plot as theres been so many, its always evolving, but it's definitely worth a watch! You can catch series 1-4 on Nextflix, 5 may be released now as it's into it's 6th season!  Just because this is my thing and I love it i'm rating it 5/5

Homeland

My husband and I started watching this one Sunday, we were flicking through Netflix and this seemed interesting. Well it became a Sunday ritual, we watched countless episodes over a few weeks of Sundays until we caught up with the current season.  It's a gripping drama that will have you staying up all hours to get in another episode, Carrie plays her character immensely, her role is very challenging and her acting skills are second to none.  You won't be disappointed! The plot is based around terrorism and in today's current society it seems a very fitting drama that probably isn't that far from the truth sadly!  A real eye opener, I rate this as a 5/5

What have you been watching?  I am always looking for recommendations, right now we are watching Justified, we've only watched a few episodes and whilst it's good I'm still not fully invested yet, but I may do another post like this in a few months and I'll let you all know my thoughts on that.

Much Love, Kirsty
