A WEDDING GUEST OUTFIT

A few weekends ago we set off to Inverness to celebrate the wedding of our good friends!  I searched high and low for a dress that I felt comfortable in.  I've gained a few pounds since Oscar's birth and despite my yo-yo dieting I haven't been able to keep any significant weight off.  So, my original dress didn't fit, which I was gutted about as I have wanted to wear it for so long, but I WILL get into that dress (watch this space).  Anyway after a few weeks of trawling websites and local stores I finally found one that I was really happy with!  So, here's a little 'Wedding" OOTD!

I found this beauty in New Look, I fell in love with the colour immediately.  I'm a big fan of plain pieces and I believe that less is definitely more.  Sometimes I find that if I wear something with lots of detailing or pattern it can make me look bigger than I am.  I really liked the lace detailing at the bottom of the dress and the white trim finished it off perfectly!

Sourcing a bag and shoes to match was an ordeal in itself!  I ended up getting the bag in New Look too,  it was £24.99 and initially I didn't want to pay that for a clutch bag, it's pretty small, however the crystal detailing is stunning and I will most definitely use it again.  I was looking for a thin strapped pair of white heels, however as autumn is nearing in most of the shops had sold out of white shoes, however I managed to pick these up in Dorothy Perkins for £10 - bargain!  I actually really love them, they are so comfy and I have worn them twice since, so these were definitely worth the price tag!

The dress is hand wash only which is a bit of a pain as I hate hand washing and I was worried the colour would run into the white, but I hand washed it last week and it was fine.

The dress has two ties around the waste and hangs perfectly over my mum tum.  I felt so comfortable in this dress, it hid my lumps and bumps and made for the perfect dancing outfit! I'll make sure to wear this again before the year is out!
